According to Moroccan wedding traditions, the nuptial ceremony is conducted before the actual wedding day. The walimah is usually arranged by the bridegroom, although the bride or her party may help if they wish. The actual sunnah states that the walimah should be held after the marriage has been consummated, but many scholars believe that it can be held at any time after the nikah.
