The number of verses of the Holy Quran

The number of verses of the Holy Quran is 6666. This is according to the scholars of Islam. However, some argue that there are 6236 verses in the Quran because they divided the long verse as two. All the scholars of Islam are agreed on the number 6200 but they differ regarding the total Quranic verses in the present Quran.

There are 6236 verses in total but it is understood that their are 6666 verses. The difference in opinion arises due to different interpretations of the Quran. Nevertheless, all Muslims believe that the Quran is a holy book and a source of guidance for them.
